Anna Ekblad has been an Intern at All Saints’ since September 2016 during which time she has studied for a theology degree with WTC. For the first year, she was also a student on the New Wine Discipleship Year.
My experience as an intern
I have had the joy and privilege of being able to work at All Saints' as an intern these last two years. I was drawn to All Saints because of their heart for God and for equipping/empowering leaders. I wanted to serve in a church and dabble in the different departments to learn more how a church runs.
During these two years I worked in the Atrium, the Luncheon Club, Saints' Babies & Toddlers groups as well as being part of the Discipleship Year, studying theology at WTC and working in the children's work team. I had a very rich experience of gospel/ministry teaching from various fiery guest speakers and I grew so much in my faith. I grew a lot in my confidence as a leader as I was challenged out of my comfort zone to help lead Sunday school for 5-7 year olds, and also teach the bible to the pre-schoolers every Tuesday, lead singing in the Toddler Groups, and help lead school assemblies with Sophie.
My supervisor challenged and stretched me in so many ways and really helped me grow in my weak areas as well as celebrate with me in my growth points. I also had the opportunity to share my faith with the parents I met, and to build relationships with them. My knowledge of the Bible and of God grew by leaps and bounds and I was especially blessed by the staff leadership training on Mondays and bible study group on Wednesdays.
Overall, my experience was outstanding. I am very thankful for those who took me in as host parents. You made it possible for me to study, serve and learn so much All Saints’. I will be very sad to leave but I feel very equipped, supported and confident in the skills I have learned at All Saints’. I will be going on to study my Masters in theology and counselling in America. All Saints’ family, thank you SO much for all your support. I feel very thankful!
