ANNA HAS BEEN AN INTERN SERVING IN MMU CHURCH ST PAUL'S HAINAULT AND ALSO ALL SAINTS'
In the summer of 2016, I went to New Wine United and they were advertising a gap year I’d never heard of. Nearly every session featured an advert for this and I started to take the hint that maybe I should look into it. I was at a crossroads in my life with only a year left of sixth form and the decision of “do I go for what the world wants me to do?” or “should I explore what God would like me to do?”. In the end I chose the latter and dedicated this year for God to speak and tell me what I should be doing with my life.
I’ve been really welcomed at St. Paul’s and have definitely expanded my family. I’ve really enjoyed the teaching we’ve received and that has helped me strengthen my faith so much. Working in the Atrium, leading worship, helping with youth and kids work and all of the other things I’ve done this year have taught me many lessons and I’ve met wonderful people on the way who have been so supportive in my year here. The mission trip to Romania was such a blessing and something I’ll take with me forever. Giving this year over to God has certainly shaped the rest of my future as I have a foundation for whatever it is that I go on to do.
I came onto this DY wanting to know what I was going to do with my life once the year was over, I’ve now shifted my view into the reality that it doesn’t really matter. God doesn’t need to tell me my whole life’s plan, he just reveals perhaps a week in advance and that’s fine. The plan is no plan and I’m fine with that. Anna x
